The KPU pressure switches from Danfoss are designed for commercial air conditioning and refrigeration, supermarket refrigeration, and food processing and storage, and come in low pressure, high pressure, and dual pressure varieties. KPU pressure switches are used for starting and stopping refrigeration compressors and fans on air-cooled condensers.

KPU thermostats are temperature operated electric switches available in single-pole, single-throw (SPST) and single-pole, double-throw (SPDT). KPUs are mainly used for temperature regulation, but can also be used in safety monitoring systems.
