A culture of safety — Safety First!
Through our Safety First approach, our aim is to foster a strong safety culture across Danfoss.
Our approach to continuously driving improvements in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) is anchored in a robust management system. Ensuring alignment with best practices, all our production sites are required to comply with international standards such as ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety management systems and ISO 14001 for environmental management systems.
We promote safe behaviors — whether on-site, traveling, or working with partners — through continuous awareness-raising and training. We have zero tolerance for harassment and discrimination, and work to ensure we provide a workplace that is not only physically safe but also psychologically safe.
As part of our approach, we provide a range of support systems. Employees are trained in first aid, and through our benefits program, employees have health insurance coverage and access to an Employee Assistance Program offering professional counseling for work or personal issues, along with an online resource hub.
Our Safety First approach applies to everyone working for or with Danfoss, as well as anyone visiting our sites. Contractor safety guidelines ensure that external partners meet the same high standards when working at Danfoss locations.

Reducing the Lost Time Injuries
We are proud to continuously improve our efforts to ensure safety in the workplace. Our commitment to safety ensures a proactive approach toward achieving zero fatalities, fostering a workplace where every employee returns home safely.
As we expand our business, we stay committed to ensuring a healthy and safe working environment. Since 2017, we have almost doubled the size of Danfoss. In 2024, the Lost Time Injury Frequency rate (LTIF) has increased slightly from a record low 1.2 in 2023 to 1.3 in 2024. Also, our Total Recordable Injury Frequency rate (TRIF) increased slightly from 2.1 in 2023 to 2.3 in 2024. We expect to get back to 2023 levels during 2025.
Continuous improvements and safety targets
Driven by a continuous improvement approach and supported by a strong safety culture, we have set the following safety targets:
- LTIF (Lost Time Injury Frequency): Danfoss has set a target to ensure an LTIF rate at or below 1.0 incidents per million hours worked by 2030, compared to a 2024 baseline of 1.2.

Mental health
At Danfoss, we recognize that mental health is just as important as physical well-being. A supportive workplace enhances employee well-being and strengthens productivity, engagement, and overall job satisfaction. This commitment is embedded in our Safety First approach and supporting policies, which outline proactive measures, resources, and support systems to promote mental health and create a safe and inclusive workplace.
As part of this commitment, we continue to raise awareness about mental health and provide tools that help leaders and teams manage stress effectively.
