We are excited to announce the release of our new AME 110NL(X) modulating actuators for AB-QM 4.0 pressure independent balancing control valves. The new actuators are significantly upgraded and designed to enhance the performance and efficiency of hydronic HVAC systems. These advanced actuators replace the existing AME 110NL(X) and AME 120NL models, bringing a host of new features and improvements tailored to meet the evolving needs in the market.
The AME 110NL(X) modulating actuators are engineered to deliver high-precision control for AB-QM 4.0 Pressure Independent balancing Control Valves (PICV) in DN 15-32 range. One of the standout enhancements is the built-in digital step motor. It has a 15x higher resolution of 4,000 positions over the full valve stroke compared to its predecessor which has a resolution of 256 steps. This ensures unparalleled accuracy and control in HVAC applications.
Technically, the new actuators boost several notable improvements. The IP rating has been upgraded from IP42 to IP54, providing better water resistance and enabling installation in any direction. The actuators also support both 24V AC and DC power supplies, with automatic detection of the power type. The speed is now selectable at 3 or 12 sec./mm. Additionally, the actuators feature advanced electronic calibration and valve stroke detection, ensuring optimal performance and easy setup.
The new fully RoHS compliant AME 110NL(X) modulating actuators represent a significant advancement in HVAC control technology, offering high accuracy, improved durability, and energy efficiency. We are confident that these new actuators for our high-accuracy AB-QM 4.0 PICV valves will meet and exceed your expectations, providing reliable and precise control for your building projects.
The combination of AME 110NL(X) and AB-QM 4.0 PICV valves is a recommended solution for the required implementation of “Active control of energy usage” provided through BACS in buildings as stated in the EN ISO 52120-1 standard. This standard is supportive to the renewed Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) which is aimed to reduce energy consumption in European Building stock. Stay tuned for more updates and innovations from Danfoss, as we continue to engineer tomorrow’s solutions for a better, more efficient world.
AB-QM 4.0 Pressure Independent Control Valves (PICVs) are the successor of Danfoss AB-QM. They offer best-in-class specifications and easy installation. The scaling- and clogging resistant design secures and outstanding reliability and long lifetime. The required design flow can easily be established by turning the setting wheel on top of the valve to a presetting between 10-100% of the nominal flow. A wide variety of on/off, modulating and digital actuators is available to accurately control the flow through the valves.
